Hello, guys... As we all know that Paras Bir Bikram Shah Dev is the ex-crowned prince of Nepal and he is very renowned and famous Personality of our country. We usually and oftenly come to listen and know controversial and unwanted news about him. He is known as Bad boy of Nepal. - 1) Paras is the only son of Ex-King Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev and of Ex-Queen Komal Rajya Laxmi Devi Shah.He has only one sister.
- 2) At the age of 30, on 20 October 2001 ,Paras became Crown Prince of Nepal.
- 3) He attended Schiller International University in the United Kingdom (UK) studying for an Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration. But ,however he didn't completed it.
- 4) He have 3 children, Purnika Rajya Laxmi Devi Shah eldest daughter , Kritika Rajya Laxmi Devi Shah youngest daughter and only the son ,Hridayendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev.
- 5) In August 2000 ,Paras was suspected for killing Praveen Gurung , a popular singer.But Paras was not charged for this incident. He was also reported to have fired a pistol into the air at a Chitwan hotel on 11 December 2010 ,under the influence of alcohol.
- 6) Paras has been arrested on drug's charges in Thailand on July 2014. It was reported that the police arrested Paras with a green plastic tubes used for drugs and two similar tubes from a BMW vehicle , he was riding.
- 7) On 6th September 2007 , Paras was rushed to the Military hospital after he suffered from a "mild heart attack". Again in 2013 February 19 , Paras was admitted to Hospital in Bangkok, Thailand after he suffered a second heart attack. He was on hospital for more than two weeks.
Nowadays he is having really a bad days, time has flown and circumstances are really changed. In those past year, many incident has and were occured which shocked all people. Ex-Crowned Royal members are not being able to impress the people and they couldn't keep the wise and decent image among public peoples. Paras has arrested many times for several reasons. Leadership is the art of influencing and inspiring the behaviour of others in accordance with requirement. Leadership is one of the necessary and important elements of business management. It is the art of influencing and inspiring the behaviour of others in accordance with requirement. It is the personal quality of an individual who organizes the effort of individuals and directs them to achieve common objectives.
In fact, leadership is a process of influencing the human behaviour. The influence that is operated by the leader on his group members to realize a specified objective in a given situations is leadership. A person is said to be a leader when his group members are willing to accept his instructions, guidance and suggestions. Only a successful leader is able to influence upon the attitude, perception and behaviour of his followers.
Here, leadership is applicable to the managers. A successful ruler must have leadership quality to influence upon the behaviour of his public. He has to lead his subordinates in such a manner that organizational and individual objectives can be achieved. Thus, the manager must have complete vision about how to operate resources and achieve organizational objectives. He must have capability to stimulate and inspire his subordinates to do their works willingly according to his instruction.
Many Scholars have given their views to the term leadership. Some of them are given below.
- "Leadership is the activity of influencing people to strive willingly for mutual objectives."

Thus, it is concluded from the above definations that leadership is the ability to influence the behaviour and performance of an individual or group of individuals towards the most enthusiastic achievement of common objectives.
Leadership is one of the important parts of management to gain organizational objectives. Management prepares plans, forms organization, appoints efficient staff, accumulates physical resources, but it is the leaders who are responsible for practical implementation of plans. For this purpose, primary function of managers is to provide influence upon the behaviour of their subordinates. Leadership quality is an important skill of managers to gain industrious effort
from subordinates for achieving common goals.
Leadership Qualities:
Leadership is the process of influencing and inspiring the behaviour of others. In fact, organizational performance totally depends upon the ability of the manager. There must be leadership qualities in the manager to produce tremendous impact on subordinates performance and behaviour. Generally,
leadership qualities may broadly be studied under two headings.
- Personal Qualities
- Managerial Qualities
a) Personal Qualities:
The following are the major personal qualities of a leader.
- Physical Fitness: This quality focuses on the physical out-look of the leader. A leader must be physically a sound person. He should be impressive in outlook. Only a healthy person can proceed to his job with full energy and effort. Generally, physical fitness is an ordinary and natural requirement of any person and also of a leader.
- Self-Confidence: A leader must have confidence for any kind of work he is doing. He should have knowledge about the outcome of decision and activities,which are done in organization. He has to guide and lead the subordinates along with most enthusiastic lines of action. Thus, he has to decide any kind of matters according to his own knowledge and logic. The process of deciding any matter by collecting information and knowledge from others must be avoided.
- Intelligence: It is mental quality of the leader. A leader must have ability to deal with complex and difficult types of problems and situation in confident manner. He should have ability to study, analyze and take decision confidently. He should never come into confusion or puzzle when any new or complex problems are created in the organization. He has to solve any kind of problem through logical analysis and study. This is a must to run al the activities of the organization in efficient and smooth manner.
- Vision and Foresight: This quality of the leader is a must to achieve the destination i.e. to gain goals. A leader must have vision and foresight how to begin the work and how to achieve organizational objectives. For this purpose, he has to prepare plans, policies and programme in systematic manner. In the similar way, plans, policies and programme should be implemental in efficient and effective way. For this purpose, he has to lead the subordinates by providing proper guidance and instruction. He must have ability to take right decision at the right time to overcome any kind of problems and difficulties in performance.
- Sense of Responsibility: A leader must be a responsible person. He must feel morally responsible for each and every activity, which is done within his supervision.Generally, a leader performs all kinds of works with the support of subordinates and in the course of works, they may make mistakes. Here, it is the morale responsibility of the leader to take responsibility of such mistakes. He should be dependable so that subordinates trust him and perform activities in accordance with his guidance. The sense of responsibility of the leader is a must for successful operation of the organization.
- Human Character: A leader must be a man of human character. He should possess traits like honesty, loyalty, self-discipline and devotion to organization. This character of leader sets an example among subordinates and they also develop their character by taking leader as a symbolic figure. Thus, a human character leader can easily encourage and inspire his subordinates to carry-out performance in accordance with his instruction and guidance.
b) Managerial Qualities:
The following are the major managerial qualities of a leader.
- Technical Knowledge: A manager must have basic technical knowledge on all the activities done in the organization. It is only an expert leader who can technically guide the subordinates towards the most efficient and economic completion of performance. Besides, he must have ability to convince subordinates about the knowledge and impart suitable guidance to them. Therefore, technical knowledge in all sectors of activities is necessary to take right decision in right time.
- A Moderate State of Mind: This quality emphasizes to maintain patience while taking any decision. A leader is a decision maker, and so, he must have a moderate state of mind. It is essential to come at rational decision which should be free from bias and emotions. A leader must be patient while taking any decision. He must have ability to distinguish between good and bad impact of decision. He has to take sound decision by considering organizational merits and common interest.
- Ability of Judgement: A successful leader must have ability to maintain impartiality and judgement. As a top managerial authority, he has to take various types of decisions in different situation. Thus, he must have ability to take right decision at the right time. While taking any decision, he must avoid the feeling of close relation, friendship, favoritism etc. He has to decide the matters only by considering organizational objectives.
- Organizing Ability: A leader must have organizing ability. He must have ability to make appropriate division of works among subordinates. Besides, he should have ability to arrange physical facilities and modern technology on the basis of requirement. He has to establish well defined productive relation among all the subordinates.He has to take care to maintain coordination among the employees. This is essential to maximize output within minimum cost and efforts.
- Motivation and Communication Skills: A successful leader must posses motivating skill. He must have ability to induce the subordinates to gain maximum effort from them. For this purpose, he must have knowledge about the needs and requirements of subordinates and must apply appropriate motivational tools at the right time. A leader also must have communication skills to maintain up-to-date relation with subordinates and with other authorities. He must ensure the maintenance of open and two-way communication system within the organization. Here communication and motivation are interrelated terms.
- Knowledge of Psychology: As a father of the organization, a manager has to keep touch with psychological knowledge. He must possess traits of empathy, sociability, knowledge of the self and also knowledge of subordinates. Empathy implies the ability to place oneself in the position of subordinates. A leader must place himself in the position of subordinates and decides the matters by considering their viewpoint. As a social being, leader must have a social nature. He must have ability to mix-up with subordinates and treat himself as a part of it. So, an efficient leader must have knowledge about psychology.
